- Before the start of a shift, make sure that all safety devices are operational and MUST ALWAYS before operation of equipment.
- PPE (personal protective equipment) is always worn
- All Safety procedures are followed
- Ensure that machine settings and parameters are accurate per job specifications and/or blueprints
- Produce parts according to specifications provided by STTX-ERP system (customer parts specific information) and within acceptable production requirements
- Ensure the Laser line has the correct and sufficient raw stock to maintain operational efficiency
- Ensure the Laser line scrap area is ALWAYS kept clean and free of debris (scrap tubs below machine and sheet skeletons)
- Ensure all finished products are stacked and packaged according to customer requirements
- Complete accurate daily records (date, time, quantities of parts produced, and scrap) within the ERP system
- Accept responsibility for all parts produced, the quality of those parts, and inspections performed on those parts as per customer requirements
- Perform required preventive maintenance (limited) and report to maintenance any abnormal conditions or laser machine issues that are not within normal guidelines for operation
- Maintain the assigned work area clean and orderly and in compliance with 6S procedures (safety, sort, set in order, shine, standardize, and sustain)
- Interact with supervisor/lead, maintenance, on issues, problems, or concerns with machine, parts, work area in a positive and constructive manner
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or lead
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of and ability to comply with safety rules and requirements
- Knowledge of raw materials (steel, aluminum, stainless)
- Ability to use tape measure, digital calipers, micrometers, computer, and other quality measuring tools
- Ability to read and understand material tags and production instructions
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to multitask on a wide variety of production needs
- Ability to solve problems and have attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast paced or production-oriented environment
- Team player, leader, strong collaborative traits
- Prior Forklift and/or Crane experience preferred
- Ability to routinely bend and squat
- Ability to routinely climb stairs, ladders, or platforms
- Ability to walk and stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to repetitively reach and grasp
- Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds
- Ability to multitask on a wide variety of production needs
- Ability to solve problems and have attention to detail
A high school diploma or GED with at least 1 year of industrial or manufacturing experience is preferred. Formal education may be substituted with experience and training when competency in the position is demonstrated.
Working ConditionsThis is a Safety sensitive position. This work is performed in a manufacturing setting with moderate to high levels of noise due to machinery and equipment processes. This position requires the use of personal protective equipment for safety compliance and may include overtime as deemed necessary by management.
