Metal Finisher
We are seeking a detail-oriented Metal Finisher Technician to join our growing aerospace manufacturing team in Decatur, AL. This position plays a critical role in ensuring precision-machined components meet strict aerospace quality standards prior to final inspection and shipment. The ideal candidate will have experience deburring and finishing metal components, using hand tools, abrasives, grinders, and sanding equipment to remove imperfections and produce high-quality finished parts.
Responsibilities- Perform deburring, sanding, polishing, and finishing operations on machined metal components.
- Remove burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections while maintaining part specifications.
- Utilize hand tools, files, grinders, sanding equipment, and abrasives to finish parts.
- Inspect parts for cosmetic and dimensional quality prior to approval.
- Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and engineering drawings.
- Ensure finished products meet aerospace quality and workmanship standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Safely operate finishing equipment and follow all safety procedures.
- Communicate quality concerns or discrepancies to supervisors and quality personnel.
- Assist with other production and finishing duties as assigned.
- Previous experience deburring, sanding, polishing, or finishing metal components.
- Experience using hand tools, grinders, files, abrasive wheels, and sanding equipment.
- Ability to identify burrs, sharp edges, and surface defects.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Ability to follow written work instructions and production documentation.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment and stand for extended periods.

The position is based in a manufacturing environment where you will be required to stand for extended periods. You will work with a variety of hand tools, grinders, files, abrasive wheels, and sanding equipment, ensuring all safety procedures are followed. The work area is maintained to high standards of cleanliness and organization.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Decatur, AL.
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $20.00/hr.
