We have an opening for a Packaging/Shipping Specialist position working at a company located in Tanner, AL that manufactures products used in detention facilities. This is an evaluation-to-hire opportunity with potential for full-time placement.
*** THIS IS PHYSICALLY DEMANDING POSITION INVOLVING HEAVY LIFTING ***
Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
1 or more years of experience using hand/power tools is highly desirable.
Ability to push, pull, lift heavy objects (50 lb. or more) repeatedly throughout shift.
Must be capable of working effectively in extreme working conditions including exposure to:
- High noise levels
- Dust and fumes
- Fluctuating temperatures (hot & cold)
High School Diploma or GED preferred.
ACT Work Keys National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) is preferred.
Duties/ResponsibilitiesAssemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools.
Clean containers, materials, supplies, or work areas, using cleaning solutions and hand tools.
Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensure that product quality and packing specifications are met.
Load materials and products into package processing equipment.
Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools.
Measure, weigh, and count products and materials.
Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools.
Place materials into containers, using hand tools, cranes, forklift, or other equipment.
Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records.
Remove completed or defective products or materials, placing them on moving equipment, such as conveyors, or in specified areas, such as loading docks.
Seal containers or materials, using glues, fasteners, nails, and hand tools.
Strict adherence to safety policies and procedures.
