Director, Supplier Quality

• Develop and implement supplier quality management strategies aligned with company goals and program requirements
• Lead two Senior Managers and multiple Supplier Quality Engineers responsible for supplier qualification, audits, and performance monitoring
• Establish and maintain supplier qualification and approval processes, including FAI and PPAP
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective action processes for supplier-related nonconformances
• Manage supplier scorecards and KPIs to improve supplier quality performance
• Partner with Procurement and Engineering to assess and mitigate supply chain risk
• Support supplier development initiatives to build long-term supplier capability and capacity
• Ensure compliance with AS9100, ISO 9001, NADCAP, and applicable industry standards
• Support NPI by qualifying suppliers for new materials, components, and processes
• Represent Supplier Quality in design reviews, program reviews, and executive-level briefings
• Strategically develop the supplier quality organization in alignment with Blue Origin’s products and businesses
• Implement quality management system solutions supporting manufacturing, technology, research, and spaceflight production

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical field
• 10+ years of experience in supplier quality, manufacturing quality, or related discipline
• 5+ years of people management experience
• Demonstrated experience leading supplier audits and qualification activities
• Proficiency with FMEA, 8D, APQP, SPC, and MSA
• Strong knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent quality management system standards
• Must reside full time in Kent, Washington;
  Huntsville, Alabama; or Cape Canaveral, Florida
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted U.S. refugee/asylee
• Ability to pass Blue’s Standard Background Check
• Master’s degree in engineering, Quality, or a related technical field (preferred)
• Experience in aerospace, defense, or advanced manufacturing industries (preferred)
• ASQ CQE or CMQ/OE certification (preferred)
• Experience supporting hardware development from design through production (preferred)
• Familiarity with government/FAR/DFARS procurement quality requirements (preferred)

Demonstrates expertise in supplier quality management, including supplier qualification, audits, and performance monitoring, while ensuring compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards. Proven ability to lead teams, drive root cause analysis, and implement quality management systems in aerospace and advanced manufacturing environments.
