OverviewProvides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service in the Meat and/or Seafood Department. Wraps, trims, stocks cases, and receives merchandise.
Responsibilities- Provides prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern, and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store.
- Smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner; learns customer names and addresses them by name whenever possible.
- Assists customers by escorting them to products, securing out‑of‑reach items, loading or unloading heavy items, noting customer suggestions or requests, and performing other tasks to enhance the shopping experience.
- Answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service, including taking customer orders.
- Works with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
- Wraps, weighs, and labels product; reviews status and appearance of food for freshness; stocks cases or rotates product.
- Finishes trims on steaks, roasts, and chops in preparing retail cuts, including seafood for traying.
- Prepares and organizes seafood items for display; trays, slices, tenderizes, and grinds product.
- Replenishes and organizes coolers; reports out‑of‑stock products to appropriate personnel.
- Removes trash in a timely manner; maintains strict adherence to department and company guidelines related to personal hygiene and dress; adheres to company policies and individual store guidelines.
- Reports to work on time and when scheduled.
- Prepares department signs.
- Orders replenishment merchandise as directed by management.
- Assists in other areas of store as needed.
- Performs other job‑related duties and special projects as required.
- Ability to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions; deal with a few concrete variables.
- Ability to perform simple addition and subtraction; copy figures, count and record.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions; write identifying information; request supplies orally or in writing.
High school diploma or equivalent; food safety training; six months or less of similar or related work.
Physical Requirements- Exert up to 85 pounds of force occasionally, up to 40 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
- Perform activities incl. climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions.
- Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
Position is continually exposed to a cool environment and dampness; frequent noise from saws; exposure to cleaning solvents; possibility of electrical shock; fast‑paced work environment.
Equipment used includes knives, grinders, patty maker, tenderizer, slicer, pallet jack, tumbler, wrapping system, and rotisserie.

CompensationAnticipated hourly starting wage: $11.50 to $14.40 depending on experience.
