Retail Scan Associate (Blountville, AL 35031)
The base hours for this position average from 6-10 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours (typically 1–2 hours per week per store) are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. Full scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview.
Scan Scape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan all product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps throughout the store. The data collected is analyzed and used to improve the sales performance of the product and retailer (store).
Being a Retail Scan Associate offers an opportunity in retail, providing workplace independence, some flexibility in hours, and job consistency. There will be continuous physical activity throughout the workday shift.

- Perform in-store data collections at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks.
- Use a downloadable app on your mobile phone to scan barcodes in numerous locations throughout each store.
- Provide the quantity of about 45% of the products scanned.
- Complete Display Scanning on the entire store each week (may take several hours).
- Participate in Custom Projects requested by clients, adding 30 minutes to 2 hours of extra work per week per store.
- Adhere to weekly deadlines to deliver accurate data to clients.
- Maintain high-quality, detail-oriented work while performing the duties independently.
- At least 18 years old with a valid driver’s license.
- Reliable vehicle with minimum state auto insurance coverage.
- Ability to endure being on your feet for long periods, while accessing products throughout the store.
- Can lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend/stretch/stoop/stand.
- Can perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
- Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Deadline-driven self-starter.
- Access to reliable Wi‑Fi.
- Tech savvy.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
This position is expected to remain open for approximately 30 days and may close earlier if sufficient qualified candidates are identified.
