As an Outside B2B Sales Representative, you will market and sell our full range of steel tubing products and value-added solutions to our customers within the carport, fence, and related industries. This is a hunter-focused role designed for sales professionals who excel at generating new business, developing long-term customer relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and driving profitable sales growth within an assigned territory.
Key Responsibilities- Manage, grow, and retain a portfolio of customers within your assigned territory, including distributors, fabricators, manufacturers, and contractors in the carport, fence, gate, and light structural markets.
- Prospect and develop new business opportunities through cold calling, customer visits, networking, industry events, and strategic territory planning.
- Identify customer needs and recommend steel tubing solutions that support their manufacturing, fabrication, and construction requirements.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, including owners, purchasing managers, operations managers, and production personnel.
- Prepare and present product proposals, quotations, and pricing strategies to secure new business and increase market share.
- Monitor market trends, competitive activity, and customer requirements to identify growth opportunities and provide market intelligence.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including customer service, operations, and logistics, to ensure excellent customer support and on-time delivery.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, customer records, and pipeline activity within the company's CRM system.
- Participate in industry trade shows, customer events, and association meetings to promote the company's products and services.
- Consistently achieve sales targets, activity metrics, and territory growth objectives.
- Bachelor's degree preferred;
High School Diploma or equivalent required. - Prior Outside B2B Sales experience strongly preferred.
- Experience in the steel, metals, building materials, manufacturing, construction, fencing, or carport industries is highly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and CRM software.
- Ability to read and understand product specifications, technical drawings, and manufacturing requirements is a plus.
- Strong communication, negotiation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to develop and execute an effective territory sales strategy.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
