Job Title: Journeyman Industrial Sheet Metal Mechanic

Location: Decatur, AL

Company: United Trades of America

Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: $23-$25 per hour (DOE) + Benefits

Job Responsibilities
  • Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair sheet metal products and equipment (ductwork, hoods, chutes, tanks, etc.)
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications
  • Use hand tools, power tools, shears, brakes, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and assemble metal
  • Ensure work is performed according to company and OSHA safety standards
  • Conduct inspections and perform preventive maintenance as required
  • Collaborate with other trades and project managers on job sites
  • Follow layout and work orders and complete tasks with minimal supervision
Requirements
  • Valid Journeyman Sheet Metal certification or equivalent experience
  • 4+ years of industrial sheet metal experience preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings
  • Proficient in layout, cutting, forming, welding, and installation of sheet metal
  • Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, and galvanized materials
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs, work at heights, and operate aerial lifts as needed
  • Strong understanding of safety procedures and PPE use
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Must pass a drug screening and background check
Preferred Qualifications
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification
  • Welding certifications (TIG/MIG/Stick)
  • Experience in shutdowns, turnarounds, or heavy industrial projects
