Duties and Responsibilities
The Truck Driver will be responsible for safely driving to and from designated locations, verifying loads to shipping papers, and maintaining the electronic logging device (EID).
- Drives a variety of vehicles.
- Delivers and picks up cylinders and parts.
- Loads and unloads vehicle.
- Prepares receipts for load picked up.
- Maintains vehicle log according to state and federal regulations.
- Maintains phone contact with supervisor to receive delivery instructions.
- Performs regular inspection of delivery vehicles.
- Reports any vehicle maintenance requirements or operational problems or issues to vehicle maintenance specialist on specific conditions.
- Maintains professional and friendly relationships with customers.
- Assists with any other job-related duties as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

Language AbilityAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math AbilityAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Education/ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates and Licenses- Valid commercial class B with air brakes driver license required for some vehicles.
- Valid medical Department of Transportation card
- Hi-lo permit.
- Valid chauffeurs license
- Good communication skills
- Good people skills
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions and occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles.
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
