Accounting Manager
The Accounting Manager leads a team of Senior and Staff Accountants responsible for accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting across designated business units or functional areas. This role manages all phases of the accounting cycle, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities, ensuring adherence to corporate accounting standards.
Essential Functions- Lead and develop an assigned accounting team, including Senior and Staff Accountants, by managing workload priorities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness, and promoting continuous improvement in accounting processes.
- Manage and perform accounting activities for designated business units or functions, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with corporate accounting standards.
- Oversee the month‑end close for assigned entities or divisions including reviewing journal entries, validating P&L statements, and ensuring all balance sheet accounts are reconciled and supported.
- Present financial results and performance analyses to Corporate Accounting leadership, providing clear insight into trends, variances, and underlying business drivers.
- Serve as the primary accounting contact for assigned business units or processes, partnering with leadership, FP&A, and Operations to ensure alignment and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Oversee transactional accounting processes within area of responsibility, maintaining compliance with policy.
- Develop and maintain reporting and performance metrics for high‑volume or complex accounting areas to enhance visibility, accuracy, and control.
- Maintain and update corporate accounting policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs) on a quarterly basis to ensure consistency, compliance, and alignment with evolving business needs.
- Participate in and support special projects and ad‑hoc requests as directed by management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA preferred.
- 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced, self‑directed environment.
- Previous work experience in the construction industry is a plus.
