Description

The Task Force for Global Health is an Emory University affiliate located in Decatur, GA. Its programs focus on building durable public health systems that serve all people. Focus areas include neglected tropical diseases, vaccines, and health systems strengthening. The Task Force received the 2016 Conrad N. Hilton Humanitarian Prize—the world's largest award of its kind—in recognition of its extraordinary contributions to alleviating human suffering.

TEPHINET (Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network) is a professional network of field epidemiology training programs (FETPs) aimed at strengthening global health capacity by supporting training in field epidemiology and public health interventions.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Provides administrative and logistical support for projects, initiatives, and programs within an NGO environment. Assists assigned managers and team members by maintaining calendars, receiving and composing communications as correspondence, and replies to inquiries.
  • Handles preparations, scheduling, logistics, and other various requirements for domestic and international travel. Drafts contracts, budgets, and donor reports with direction from the manager. Processes financial documents including contracts, expense reports, invoices, etc.
  • Writes routine reports and correspondence, and assists with the development of project/program materials. Organizes meetings and events.
  • Works with and maintains data management and filing for projects/programs. Serves as an administrator of work product with other programs/departments, i.e. finance, program development, public information, etc. Liaises and communicates with project consultants and field office staff, providing logistical and administrative support, as directed.
  • Conducts research and provides support to one or more staff members in regards to project and programmatic efforts. May supervise work study students and volunteers.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • Maintain calendars, coordinate scheduling, and manage routine administrative communication and inquiries for the program team.
  • Arrange and manage complex domestic and international travel logistics, accommodations, and itineraries. Process financial transactions including expense reports, vendor invoices, contracts, and payment requests.
  • Support project managers with drafting program budgets, contracts, and routine donor reporting requirements. Coordinate logistics for meetings, workshops, events, and conferences.
  • Manage programmatic data filing, documentation systems, and digital records.
  • Act as an administrative liaison with internal departments such as Finance, Program Development, and Public Information.
  • Communicate with external consultants and field office staff to provide logistical and administrative assistance. Conduct research and assist in preparing project or programmatic materials.
  • Participate fully as a member of the Task Force for Global Health by contributing, assisting and participating in projects, activities, and initiatives as requested by management.

TRAVEL:
Minimal to moderate travel may be required as needed.

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent AND five years of administrative experience, OR a bachelor's degree. Proficiency with various personal computer software applications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Fluency in English, French, and Spanish is strongly preferred.
