- Curriculum and Instruction:
Implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities using our proprietary Wonder of Learning® curriculum to engage and support each child’s growth. - Classroom Management:
Create and maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment. - Family Communication:
Maintain open, effective and positive communication with families and guardians about their child’s progress and daily activities. - Health and Safety:
Supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities to uphold health and safety standards, licensing regulations and ensure their well‑being. - Professional Development:
Participate actively in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to enhance teaching skills. - Assessment & Documentation:
Observe, assess and document children’s learning and development to inform activities and share insights with families. - Team
Collaboration:
Support Assistant Teachers and Resource Teachers, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment. - Behavior Guidance:
Model and implement positive guidance strategies to support social‑emotional growth and conflict resolution.
- Early Childhood Education (ECE) or approved ECE‑related bachelor’s degree – Four‑Year Degree or higher credential (Masters, Specialist, etc.). Approved related degrees include Early Childhood Education (P‑5) Birth Through Kindergarten, Early Childhood Special Education General Curriculum (P‑5), Special Education Preschool (ages 3‑5), Child and Family Development, Child Development, Elementary Education, Elementary Reading and Literacy, Family & Consumer Science/Home Economics, Infant and Child Development, Special Education General Curriculum.
- Or a non‑ECE bachelor’s or higher with approved ECE credential:
Associate degree with ECE major, Georgia’s Pre‑K Program Operating Guidelines Appendix T Technical College Diploma (TCD) with ECE major, Technical Certificate of Credit (TCC) with ECE major, Montessori Diploma (must be accredited by MACTE), valid Preschool Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition.
Note:
Infant/Toddler CDA, Family Child Care CDA, Home Visitors CDA, and Military School‑Age CDA do not meet the CDA requirement for a lead teacher. - Or a T4‑T7 Georgia Teaching Certificate issued by GaPSC.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children.
