Position: Area 2 Elementary School_ Paraprofessional, Kindergarten (Laurel Ridge ES) 2026-2027

Kindergarten Paraprofessional

Laurel Ridge ES is seeking a kindergarten paraprofessional. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable and have a strong desire to help students learn. The primary responsibility is to implement, deliver, and promote high academic expectations to all students. The ideal candidate must work collaboratively with team members and must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential functions include assisting students with physical and personal care needs, supporting students with daily health-related care needs, providing small groups and/or individualized instruction to students, monitoring students before and after school, assisting teachers with daily classroom management activities, assisting teachers with the assessment of student performance, assisting teachers with the development and organization of instructional materials, providing direct instructional support to students, reinforcing academic content, implementing accommodations and modifications, assisting with progress monitoring and data collection, implementing behavior intervention plans, maintaining a safe and structured learning environment, supporting students' self-regulation, social skills, and behavioral strategies, participating in professional learning and required training, maintaining confidentiality of student records, and performing other duties as assigned.

Education and/or experience requirements include a high school diploma or GED and passing the GACE paraprofessional assessment, an associate degree or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university, minimum of sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours of college courses completed with a GPA of 2.0 or higher from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission-approved accredited college or university, and a valid Professional Standards Commission-approved paraprofessional certificate.
