Position: Coordinator for Student Engagement

Coordinator for Student Engagement

Plays a vital role in fostering a vibrant, inclusive, and connected campus community. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and promoting programs that enhance student involvement, support personal and professional growth, and strengthen a sense of belonging among Agnes Scott students. By collaborating with campus partners, student organizations, and academic departments, the Coordinator ensures that engagement opportunities are accessible, meaningful, and aligned with institutional goals.

The role requires strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills, as well as a commitment to creating dynamic experiences that enrich student life both inside and outside the classroom.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Develops programs that meaningfully engage students and support the mission and vision for the college, the Division of Student Affairs and the Center for Leadership, Engagement and Service.
  • Leads key priorities of the division including current initiatives related to student employment, leadership and first-generation college student programs.
  • Develops and stewards' annual budget, monitoring expenditures, reallocating funds and maintaining student activities financial records in accordance with federal, state and institutional procedures including preparing contractual arrangements for performers, equipment, and temporary personnel.
  • Formulates, develops, and implements policies, procedures, and programs of the Gué Pardue Hudson Center for Leadership, Engagement and Service.
  • Provides data, assessments and evaluations of relevant programs in the department.
  • Creates programs and events for the campus community that elicit a sense of belonging.
  • Advises and educates student leaders.
  • Serves on committees and task forces with academic and administrative departments as needed.
  • Requirements:

    • Education:

      Bachelor's Degree required.
    • Experience:

      Minimum of 2 years of experience in higher education or related field.
    • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
      • Individuals with experience in and a commitment to mentoring individuals from diverse backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
      • Ability to communicate effectively with others, have strong organizational and administrative skills and close attention to detail.
      • Ability to create and manage social media content.
      • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.
    • Other:
      • Must be available to work irregular hours including nights and weekends.
      • Periodic travel required from office to other locations on and off campus.
      • Must have access to reliable transportation.

    Physical Demands:

    Intermittent sitting, standing, stooping, crouching, walking, and occasional moving of light objects. Work is performed in an office with occasional travel.
