Blue And Gold Institute Coordinator
The Blue & Gold Institute (BGI) Coordinator oversees the daily operation of the Blue & Gold Institute, providing leadership and support for students who need flexible pathways to graduation. The role encompasses the core responsibilities of graduation planning, credit monitoring, credit recovery, and postsecondary readiness, while expanding to include program coordination, student reengagement, transition planning and support for virtual and alternative learning pathways.
The Coordinator works collaboratively with students, families, and staff to ensure students remain connected, supported, and on track for graduation.
Essential duties and responsibilities include:
- Student Success and Case Management
- Monitor academic progress, attendance, behavior, and graduation status for participating students.
- Develop and maintain individualized student success plans.
- Conduct regular student conferences focused on goal setting, progress monitoring, and accountability.
- Coordinate interventions and supports aligned to the Georgia Multi-Tiered System of Supports (GaMTSS).
- Facilitate reengagement strategies for students demonstrating attendance, behavioral, or academic concerns.
- Graduation Planning and Credit Recovery
- Perform all graduation and credit recovery responsibilities, including: credit audits and graduation tracking, graduation plan development and monitoring, postsecondary planning and advising, student and family conferences regarding graduation requirements, coordinate credit recovery opportunities and monitor student completion.
- Support students in remaining on track for graduation and developing postsecondary plans.
- Program Coordination
- Coordinate daily operations of the Blue & Gold Institute.
- Facilitate the student referral, review, intake, and enrollment process.
- Collaborate with school counselors, MTSS teams, administrators, and teachers to determine program placement and support needs.
- Maintain accurate student records, intervention documentation, and program data.
- Monitor program effectiveness and prepare reports on student outcomes.
- Summer and Extended-Year Responsibilities
- Coordinate summer school programming and student participation.
- Support student credit recovery and graduation planning during the summer months.
- Conduct outreach and intervention efforts for students at risk of disengagement during school breaks.
- Develops and implements strategic plans and policies for online learning, performs yearly program assessments, and provides ongoing budgetary analysis.
- Collaborates with the Administrative team to assess and improve instructional and operational practices.
Qualification requirements include:
- Advanced degree in education or a related field.
- Georgia leadership certificate or program enrollment.
- Minimum of five years of high school experience.
- Successful experiences working with secondary at-risk students.
- Working knowledge of appropriate strategies for reducing behaviors that put students at risk of not graduating from high school.
- Ability to analyze, develop, implement, and track intervention plans, data and strategies.
- Knowledge of alternative pathways to graduation and best practices in virtual, blended, and nontraditional educational settings.
- Ability to connect students and families with appropriate community services and supports to address barriers to school success and graduation.
- Online Teaching Endorsement or experience implementing online learning platforms is preferred.
Performance of this job shall be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the board's policy of evaluation on certified personnel.
