The Georgia Lottery PRE-K Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the educational initiatives and administrative functions within the Georgia Lottery PRE‑K program. This position involves assisting in the coordination and implementation of educational activities, ensuring a nurturing and supportive environment for young children, and supporting administrative tasks as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in Classroom
Activities:
Support the lead teacher in implementing lesson plans, activities, and educational programs designed for young children. - Child Development Support: Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, and cognitive development of children.
- Supervision and Safety: Ensure the safety and well‑being of children at all times, both in the classroom and during outdoor activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the lead teacher, parents, and other staff members to coordinate activities and share information regarding children’s progress.
- Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as record‑keeping, maintaining attendance records, and preparing materials for lessons and activities.
- Parent Communication: Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress, activities, and any concerns that may arise.
- Professional Development: Participate in training sessions, workshops, and meetings to enhance knowledge and skills in early childhood education.
- Associate degree equivalent; bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
- Experience working with young children in a classroom or childcare setting.
- Experience with Montessori School preferred.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine interest in working with young children.
- Ability to lift and carry children and classroom materials.
- Stamina and physical agility to actively engage with children throughout the day.
- Typically works indoors in a classroom setting.
- May require occasional outdoor activities or field trips.
$12.00 - $15.00 per hour
