Position: Survey Manager (Heavy Civil Construction Project)
Description

Protecnium is an international consulting firm specializing in engineering and technical services (). We are currently looking for a Survey Manager to join our team for a heavy civil construction project in Atlanta, Georgia.

-Project:Heavy Civil Construction Project

-Estimated duration of the position: 4-5 years - In general, when the project ends, we try to place the employee in other projects to give him/her continuity.

-Summary: The Surveying Manager will direct and supervise all surveying operations of the project, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with contractual, design, and quality standards. This position requires strong leadership skills, extensive experience in heavy civil engineering, and the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams on a large-scale project.

-Responsibilities:
  • Lead, manage, and coordinate all surveying activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Plan and supervise topographic surveys, layout, as-built surveys, and control networks.
  • Review and interpret design drawings, IFC plans, and technical specifications to ensure accurate field implementation.
  • Establish and maintain project control points and survey benchmarks.
  • Oversee field survey teams and ensure proper task allocation and productivity.
  • Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of survey equipment (Total Stations, GPS, Levels, Leica/Trimble systems).
  • Coordinate closely with construction managers, field engineers, and design teams to resolve discrepancies and validate survey data.
  • Supervise survey data processing and integration with design platforms (Civil 3D and related software).
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures for all survey deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and project environmental standards.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate survey documentation and reports for project records and handover.
  • Mentor and develop junior surveyors and technical staff.
-Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in heavy civil and highway infrastructure projects.
  • Proven experience managing survey teams on large-scale roadway projects.
  • Strong proficiency in survey data management and Civil 3D.
  • Hands-on experience with Leica and/or Trimble survey equipment.
  • Solid understanding of construction sequencing in highway and bridge projects.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work full-time on site in Atlanta, GA for the duration of the project.
-Working hours: Monday to Friday (9 hours per day, 1-hour break). Depends on the project's requirements.
