Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Product Failure Analysis associate to lead advanced diagnostics, root‑cause investigations, and cross‑functional problem solving for our electronic products, including LED drivers, power supplies, and controls. This senior‑level role drives product quality, influences design decisions, and strengthens test coverage across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Failure Analysis & Root Cause Investigations

Lead complex failure analysis investigations on electronic assemblies to identify systemic issues and emerging trends. Perform detailed electrical diagnostics using lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, and data acquisition tools. Develop and validate hypotheses for intermittent or multi‑factor failures and guide teams through structured root cause analysis methodologies. Provide clear conclusions and collaborate with design engineering teams to implement corrective design improvements.

Drive Cross‑Functional Quality Initiatives

Partner with Product Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Supplier Quality, and Product Management to improve product robustness and prevent recurrence of field or manufacturing defects. Participate in Quality Review Boards, SPC hold reviews, and product release readiness assessments. Analyze field returns, warranty data, and manufacturing issues to identify gaps in test coverage and validation processes. Contribute to improvements in validation testing, automated test coverage, and quality workflows.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

Act as a subject matter expert in failure mechanisms related to power electronics, controls, and LED systems. Mentor junior engineers, analysts, and technicians on failure analysis techniques, lab equipment usage, and data interpretation. Support the evolution of failure analysis processes, documentation standards, reporting tools, and analytical dashboards.

Documentation, Reporting & Communication

Prepare clear and concise Failure Analysis and Quality reports for engineering and leadership stakeholders. Maintain accurate data in failure tracking systems and ensure consistency across reporting.

Location & Work Model

This role is based in the Atlanta (ATL) area, with a strong preference for candidates located in the region. The position follows a hybrid schedule requiring on‑site presence of a minimum of three (3) days per week.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in failure analysis, hardware engineering, electronics testing, reliability engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Proven expertise with electronic diagnostic equipment (oscilloscopes, DMMs, power analyzers, X‑ray, microscopes, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits, power electronics, LEDs/Drivers, firmware interactions, and common failure mechanisms.
  • Demonstrated success in performing structured root cause analysis and leading cross‑functional corrective action efforts.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with LED drivers, power supplies, or Controls systems.
  • Familiarity with reliability testing, DVT/QTP, automated test development, HALT/ALT, or data analytics for quality.
