Position
Part‑Time Position (FLSA: Exempt)
Salary Range$57,125 - $91,971 (Salary Grade 19)
Purpose of ClassificationThe purpose of this classification is to investigate complaints and grievances, monitor compliance, and provide training regarding federal, state, and local non‑discrimination policies and laws.
Essential Functions- Conduct investigations: receive and review complaints and grievances; conduct intake activities; schedule and conduct interviews and fact‑finding conferences; gather evidence and documentation; prepare investigative reports; and make recommendations of a cause or no‑cause finding.
- Determine the applicability of mediation procedures; conduct and/or coordinate complaint mediation hearings, counseling, coaching, and negotiations; and take and transcribe minutes of all mediation activities.
- Ensure compliance with nondiscrimination policies; advise department staff on strategies to eliminate identified barriers and problems; communicate nondiscrimination‑related policies and procedures; provide guidance on possible discrimination issues; and serve as liaison between County departments.
- Maintain statistical documentation: compile and monitor administrative and statistical data; research information; analyze data and identify trends; prepare reports; and recommend policy changes.
- Assist in developing and updating complaint procedures, policies, and forms in consistency with federal nondiscrimination laws and regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of all work activities and records; protect confidential information according to privacy laws and policies.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, new products, methods, trends, and advances in the profession; attend professional workshops.
Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Human Resources, or a related field required.
At least three years of experience in affirmative action, equal employment opportunity, human resources, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Specific License CertificationsPHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP, SHRM‑SCP, PSHRA‑CP or PSHRA‑SCP certifications are desirable.
