Job Description
Salary Range: $61,009 - $98,224 Salary Grade: 20 FLSA:
Exempt
The purpose of this classification is to apply structured analysis, data modeling, and information engineering to design or develop information systems solutions for one or more moderately complex systems, as assigned.
Essential FunctionsThe following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Develop systems specifications; meet with County employees and managers, subject matter experts, system users, technical staff, and hardware and software vendors; gather information, goals and objectives; determine system requirements; analyze applications using relevant tools and techniques for system development; and prepare technical documentation, user manuals, and online help.
- Evaluate impact of solution alternatives; research commercial software; identify products meeting departmental requirements; and analyze and document products' ability to meet user, functional, and technical requirements; perform cost/benefit analysis; analyze constraints; and assess risk to support decision‑making.
- Assist in development and maintenance of project plans; assist in coordinating project reporting; and develop and maintain implementation and conversion plans.
- Develop and implement training and test plans; develop test scenarios; prepare user acceptance test documentation; and collaborate with system users and other technical staff to conduct user acceptance testing, unit testing, integration testing, production simulation, load testing, and network testing.
- Monitor system compliance with established policies, procedures, guidelines, plans and standards.
- Maintain an awareness of new applications, technologies, technical methods, trends, and advances in the profession; review professional publications, technical manuals, and websites to increase knowledge of network operations; and attend conferences, workshops, and training sessions as appropriate.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field required; three years of progressively responsible experience in systems analysis in a large-scale information technology environment; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification RequiredMust possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
