Position: Travel Stepdown Unit Nurse (RN) in Decatur, GA

Advance your nursing career in a renowned stepdown environment, caring for a diverse patient population and sharpening your adaptability. This position provides invaluable exposure to patients with complex medical needs such as sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergencies, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, diabetes, substance abuse concerns, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy. As a critical member of a Medical Step Down unit, you'll expand your clinical expertise, learn new protocols, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to excellent patient outcomes.

Take your practice further by working alongside a variety of teams, gaining fresh insights from various leadership styles, and enhancing your resume with substantive travel nursing experience. During your days off, immerse yourself in everything Decatur and its surroundings have to offer.

Schedule / Hours:
  • Flexible contracts: 36 or 48 hours per week
  • 16-20 bed unit with a 1:4 nurse-patient ratio
Key Qualifications:
  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent experience in stepdown or similar acute settings
  • ACLS and BLS certification required
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with acute and chronic conditions
  • Monitor and assess patient status, recognizing early signs of deterioration
  • Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams to ensure effective, evidence-based treatment
  • Maintain accurate records and support families through patient education
