Job Overview
Fusion Medical Staffing invites a travel nurse RN for an Emergency Department (ER) assignment in Decatur, Georgia. The assignment lasts 13 weeks, starting 08/03/2026, with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts.
Responsibilities- Rapidly assess and triage patients upon arrival, prioritizing care based on severity.
- Explain emergency procedures and treatments to patients and families.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments following approved nursing protocols.
- Prepare equipment and assist physicians during emergency interventions and examinations.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout the emergency department stay, responding to immediate needs.
- Observe and document patient conditions within scope of practice.
- Take and monitor vital signs, using clinical judgment to address deviations and prevent complications.
- Respond to life‑saving situations in accordance with emergency nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Document comprehensive nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic medical records (EMR).
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized needs, considering the acute nature of emergency care.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams—including physicians, specialists, paramedics, social workers and other support staff—to ensure comprehensive care.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
- Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Minimum one year of recent experience as an ER RN.
- Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Current ACLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- Current PALS or ENPC certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross).
- TNCC, NIHSS, CPI, NRP and SANE certifications.
- Any additional certifications or licenses relevant to the position.
- Critical thinking and strong interpersonal communication.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and effective communication in English.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and proficiency in PC skills.
- Physical ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
- Professionalism and positive attitude when interacting with diverse personnel.
- Fine motor skills for manipulation and assistance with procedures and equipment.
- Capacity to handle frequent public interaction and meet deadlines under pressure.
- Visual acuity and clear communication skills.
