Job Overview

Benise-Dowling & Associates, Inc. is seeking a positive attitude, self‑starter with a goal‑driven work ethic to call on manufacturers in Georgia that outsource powder coating as part of their manufacturing process. This role will have a support staff in estimating, project management and quality management with a direct report to the Vice President. Development of new business will be the primary responsibility for the first several months of your employment.

Utilizing your past relationships, current company relationships, and the development of new opportunities through attending and exhibiting at trade shows and other industry functions will be your primary source of leads. Your primary focus will be to increase our current sales volume by the acquisition of new business. The job responsibilities that follow will be in addition as needed once this new business is sold and scheduled.

Our goal is for you to have a working knowledge of all processes to better serve or sell your potential clients. Your input into ways or ideas for improving our current operations will be welcomed and will become part of our continuous improvement.

As a BDM, you are a crucial part of our leadership team and will be treated in that manner. It is an extremely important position within the organization. It entails strong management skills and a great attitude. In this position, you will represent the company’s core values in everything you are involved in.

Responsibilities
  • Daily communication with multiple clients, employees, and upper management.
  • Estimating:
    Understanding each estimate sent on behalf of the company, including labor rates, material costs, line conveyor speed, etc.
  • Converting estimates to sales by identifying opportunities through communication with clients.
  • Provide clients with ROI analysis to achieve a minimum close ratio of 20% per year.
  • Sales:
    Deliver proposals in a timely manner that provide value beyond project documents and differentiate us from competitors.
  • Vendor Relations:
    Understand powder coating systems and work with outside vendors to deliver the best overall coating system.
  • Develop qualified clients in predetermined market segments following your business plan.
  • Develop new business through trade organizations, trade shows, and entertaining existing clients to build value, trust, and friendships.
  • Maintain client relationships by keeping promises.
  • Act as liaison between client and project team.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, employees, & suppliers.
  • Participate in meetings, committees, educational opportunities, etc. as requested.
  • Travel as required based on client needs and expectations.
  • Understand and deliver jobs at an established gross profit margin to meet company goals.
Qualifications
  • 2 to 4 year college degree preferred (5 years plus industry experience considered without degree).
  • Experience managing projects of similar size and scope that the company currently targets.
  • At least five years of increasingly responsible experience in the powder coating field.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
  • Quality conscious and detail‑oriented.
  • Safety and customer service oriented.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organization skills, able to multi‑task, and manage time to meet changing deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Active listener.
  • Strong computer and internet skills:
    Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, One Note, etc.).
  • Unrestricted driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to meet obligations.
