Neal, Gerber & Eisenberg LLP is a mid‑size Chicago Loop law firm in search of a Receptionist.
PrincipalDuties & Responsibilities
- Open the security door on the 28th floor at 8:00 a.m., and log into the phone system (Microsoft Teams). Check for any voicemail calls that have been left. Forward calls to the appropriate parties. Page employees when necessary
- Log in the arrival of any guests who visit the Firm. See that guests and vendors are escorted to the location where their meeting will take place
- Accept deliveries for attorneys and others in the Firm; log all deliveries in the binder kept for that purpose
- Close the phone system and security door at 5:00 p.m.
- Handle special projects as assigned such as mailings, proofreading, page checking, etc.
- High school diploma or General Educational Development credential (GED) required
- Experience operating Microsoft Teams to answer, transfer, and forward calls
- Experience in using Microsoft Outlook or comparable email system
- Experience in locating and using information stored on various computer sites (internet, firm portal page, directories, schedules, etc.)
- Minimum of 2 years prior experience as a receptionist in a law firm or other professional service organization
- Professional appearance; friendly, customer service approach
- Ability to handle difficult situations with tact and diplomacy; ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment when no one else is available to help
- Available for overtime, often with little advance notice
- Available for occasional Saturday Reception support
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
- Ability to bend, reach, twist and push while sitting or standing

The salary for this position is $50,000 per year. Actual pay will be based on experience, education, job-related knowledge, market indicators and internal pay equity.
