We are seeking a junior-level Buyer to support our Supply Chain team on a full-time regular basis. This role is open to candidates who can work a hybrid schedule (3 days per week in office) and live within reasonable commuting distance to our Elgin, IL office.

• Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers, technologies, and finished goods in partnership with Product Management.
• Develop and execute category strategies aligned with market conditions.
• Lead RFQ/RFP processes and negotiate supplier agreements to achieve optimal commercial terms.

• Manage supplier performance through scorecards, KPIs, and monthly business reviews.
• Drive year-over-year cost reduction and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Serve as escalation point for quality, pricing, delivery, and service issues.
• Oversee supplier transitions and onboarding activities.

• Develop and maintain annual category plans, including demand analysis, inventory strategy, supplier segmentation, and risk mitigation.
• Strong continuous improvement - identify and implement improvement opportunities.

• Monitor market conditions, supplier intelligence, and historical data to support sourcing and pricing decisions.
• Proactively identify, qualify, and maintain secondary sources of supply.

• Develop and communicate forecasts to suppliers.
• Manage release of orders, delivery schedules, and availability of finished goods.
• Proactively address shortages and follow up on overdue orders to eliminate supply gaps.

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0–3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Bi-lingual in Spanish, Mandarin or Vietnamese is a plus.
• Advanced MS Office Suite skills, with a focus on Excel.
• Solid problem-solving and organization skills.
• Ability to efficiently handle shifting priorities and manage multiple tasks.
• Detail-oriented and logical individual with the ability to make objective business decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong listening ability.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time (domestic and international).
• Demonstrate high sense of priority for customer service.
