Job Summary
WAND News is looking for a passionate, creative, and motivated storyteller who can capture visually compelling content. You must have strong communication skills, editing abilities, and be able to work independently. This is an hourly position that may include working weekends, overnights, and holidays. This position is eligible for overtime.
Duties/Responsibilities- Shoot and edit compelling, high-quality video for daily news stories and live broadcasts
- Set up and operate broadcast video cameras, lighting, and audio equipment
- Collaborate with reporters, producers, and managers to cover breaking news, events, and features
- Work under exceptionally tight deadlines on a routine basis
- Ensure all video and audio meet technical and editorial standards
- Maintain assigned equipment and troubleshoot technical issues as needed
- Follow all safety guidelines and station policies while in the field
- Maintain a clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a television newsroom
- Proficiency in shooting with ENG cameras
- Strong linear editing skills, including knowledge of Adobe Premiere
- Familiarity with live streaming technology and remote broadcasting equipment preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- A journalism and/or media background is strongly preferred
$18.00 - $19.00/hr.
