Overview
Elara Caring, one of the nation’s largest providers of home-based care, is looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families.
Volunteer opportunitiesIf you are compassionate and enjoy photography, you could become a photography volunteer. Volunteers may be asked to attend special events, such as Tea Parties and Veteran Pinning’s, to photograph the patients in attendance. Families of a patient may request that a volunteer capture a portrait of their loved one. The organization also hosts an event called Holding Hands, where we photograph patients holding the hands of their loved ones.
The photograph is then given to the family as a memento.
- All volunteers must have their own equipment; cameras are not provided.
- Photographs should be donated, and HIPAA patient privacy rules apply to rights of prints.
- Hours are flexible: weekdays, evenings, or weekends. Typical engagement is 1–2 hours per week per patient or for office support.
Hours are flexible, including weekdays, evenings, or weekends. Typical visits are 1–2 hours per week per assigned patient; or volunteers may work in the office.
