Overview
As a Fleet Dispatcher at AAA The Auto Club Group (ACG) you will dispatch emergency roadside assistance to members and fleet personnel via radio, telephone or electronic system calls.
You will manage calls related to emergency and commercial road service, perform map reading, provide instructions to service personnel, monitor and resolve issues, handle escalations, and close service requests.
Responsibilities- Dispatch calls for emergency roadside assistance via radio, telephone or electronically.
- Receive and process calls using a computer‑aided dispatch system.
- Perform geographical location spotting and map reading to provide detailed instructions to service personnel.
- Monitor dispatched calls and take action to resolve potential problems.
- Handle driver or customer escalations in accordance with established procedures.
- Provide explanations to customers and prepare service reports/documents.
- Close service requests using the company electronic dispatching system.
- Accept payment from members or customers when necessary and reconcile rudimentary payment issues.
- Maintain related records and files, including inventories of tow truck supplies, vehicle maintenance records, and requisition replacement tools.
- Ensure proper maintenance of tow trucks and service vehicles and equipment.
- Assist coworkers and less‑tenured dispatchers as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- Ability to accurately navigate computer systems and enter information.
- Basic mathematical calculation skills (addition, subtraction, percentages).
- Experience managing and resolving customer issues.
- Preparation of written communications (e.g., responding to customer inquiries).
- Basic understanding of geography and ability to provide directions.
- Effective communication skills over the phone or in person and strong listening.
- Past experience in a fast‑paced environment.
- Knowledge of policies and procedures related to emergency road service.
- Reading and comprehending Customer Care service tools such as manuals and work models.
- Experience dispatching calls or in a call‑center environment.
- Hourly rate starting at $18.73/hr, with potential to exceed based on experience.
- Overtime potential at time and a half the hourly wage.
- Shift premiums: 5% for hours 5pm‑11pm, 10% for hours 11pm‑5am.
