Adjunct English Instructor

Millikin University invites applicants for the position of Adjunct English Instructor for the  Academic Year. Adjuncts can expect to teach in our University Studies writing program, specifically EN 181:
University Writing; other courses may be available to teach based on department need and adjunct qualifications.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

* Teach courses, primarily EN 181, as assigned by the department.

* Maintain regular office hours to assist students. Respond in a timely fashion to student correspondence, including student e-mails.

* Assess student performance.

* Maintain a professional attitude with all students, faculty, and staff.

Qualifications:

This position requires a Master's, MFA or doctoral degree in English, literature, rhetoric/composition, or creative writing, along with a record of excellence teaching first-year writing. Candidates with a doctoral degree in rhetoric/composition or a related field and a record of teaching excellence may also be eligible to teach EN 281:
Writing in the Disciplines.
