We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support the design, development, and manufacturing readiness of large off‑highway mining trucks
. This role focuses on heavy fabrications, steering linkages, axles, and casting development while partnering closely with cross‑functional teams to drive product quality, manufacturability, and continuous improvement.
This is an on‑site, high‑impact engineering position offering deep exposure to both product development and factory operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead design work for heavy fabrications, steering systems, linkages, front/rear axles, and metal castings
. - Create and update 3D CAD models (Creo, Solid Works, or equivalent) and support basic FEA activities.
- Participate in design reviews, develop concepts, and manage engineering changes.
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and collaborate with manufacturing teams at multiple facilities.
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and provide on‑site support for fabrication, forming, machining, welding, and assembly processes.
- Work with suppliers and global engineering teams for build quality improvement, BIQ deployment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review engineering drawings, perform mark‑ups, and ensure manufacturability and design accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Agricultural, or Civil Engineering
. - 8+ years of relevant design engineering experience.
- Strong 3D CAD proficiency (Creo, Solid Works, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of metal fabrication
, welding processes, stamping, forming, and casting design. - Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and cross‑functional collaboration).
- Experience with FEA tools like Creo Simulate, ANSYS, or Nastran.
- Understanding of machining processes and tool design.
- Ability to provide technical guidance or mentorship within a design team.
- Combination of office and shop floor engineering work (PPE required).
- Collaboration with U.S. and India‑based design teams, manufacturing plants, and supply partners.
