We are looking for an experienced project‑level environmental scientist with 3 to 8 years of professional experience in environmental field work and supporting report preparation. The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality technical services that meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.
Primary Responsibilities- Wetland determinations and delineations.
- Wetland and stormwater permitting.
- Wetland mitigation design and monitoring.
- Floristic quality assessments.
- Erosion and sediment control best‑management practices.
- Stormwater management inspection and permit compliance documentation.
- Phase I / Phase II environmental site assessments.
- Remediation monitoring and documentation.
- BS/MS in Environmental Science, Biology, Geology, Natural Resources, or a related field.
- Professional experience with wetland delineation/assessment, stormwater permitting, environmental due diligence, and/or environmental remediation.
- Strong understanding of soil erosion and sediment control best‑management practices.
- Permit‑compliance and erosion‑and‑sediment‑control inspection experience.
- Lake County Designated Erosion Control Inspector (DECI) certification, or progress toward DECI certification.
- Other soil erosion and sediment control design or inspection certifications (e.g., CPESC, CESSWI) are beneficial.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with colleagues, managers, and clients.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Word and Excel.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols.
- Ability to travel 25%–50% (primarily local).
The qualified professional will perform field activities and prepare supporting reports in accordance with applicable standards and agency regulations. Work will be performed within a team environment under the guidance of senior staff, with reviews of reports conducted by experienced colleagues.
