The Engineer I supports the successful execution of construction and infrastructure projects through field inspections, documentation, and compliance verification. This role assists in ensuring construction activities align with approved design plans, specifications, and regulatory requirements while maintaining KAD Engineering’s standards for safety, quality, and professionalism.

As employees continue to learn, acquire new skills, and gain experience, they may be promoted to higher-level positions through performance evaluation and supervisor recommendation.
(Including, but not limited to):
- Conduct field inspections of construction activities to verify compliance with contract documents, design plans, and regulatory standards.
- Perform material testing, including asphalt, concrete, and soil, to ensure adherence to project requirements.
- Document daily construction activities, including site conditions, work progress, and any deviations from approved plans.
- Communicate inspection findings, issues, and concerns to the Resident Engineer and project management team.
- Monitor contractor performance to ensure compliance with safety protocols and quality control standards.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain organized records of test results and field observations.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders to resolve on-site issues.
- Verify proper implementation of environmental controls, safety requirements, and traffic control measures.
- Bachelor’s degree in one of the following:
- Civil Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- 1–3 years of experience in construction inspection, field engineering, or a related role (internships and co-ops may be considered).
- Familiarity with construction materials, methods, and field testing practices.
- Knowledge of safety regulations, quality control standards, and applicable construction codes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn construction management software.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently in field environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for travel to project sites.
- Ability to sit, stand, climb, bend, twist, or stoop frequently and for extended periods.
- Ability to work outdoors under varying weather and site conditions.
- Ability to reach horizontally and vertically as required.
- Ability to safely use construction and inspection safety equipment.
