• Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work on a major project or a total project of moderate scope.
• Perform conventional engineering practices with complex features such as conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, and difficult coordination requirements.
• Apply broad knowledge of precedents in the specialty area and related specialties; recommend changes in procedures.
• Review progress with management.
• Supervise a few engineers and/or technicians on specific assignments.
• Communicate verbally and in writing, familiar with report preparation.

• Education:
  
  Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, or Architecture with structural engineering emphasis. Master's degree is equivalent to one year of experience.
• Experience:
  
  Generally requires 10+ years of related experience.
• License:
  Professional Engineer license with a structural specialty, or equivalent structural engineering license issued from a state that requires a separate structural license (e.g., Illinois).
• Knowledge:
  Comprehensive knowledge of steel structures, concrete structures, foundation design. Working knowledge of masonry and wood design is a plus.
• General Characteristics:
  Fully competent in all conventional types of industrial design projects. Able to work independently and complete all aspects of structural design and detailing.
• Travel:
  Willingness to travel to site locations for project needs up to 25% of the time.
