First Bank Chicago is seeking a Vice President Talent Management I. This role involves assisting in the origination and underwriting of commercial loan, franchise loan and owner-occupied commercial real estate applications, and managing client relationships. The position also includes evaluating, underwriting and assisting with closing related loans.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze loan data on new, renewal and existing loans, including data from credit bureaus, agent banks, borrowers and Bank credit files
  • Prepare spreadsheets, reports, summaries and opinions for loan officers on new, renewal and existing loans
  • Perform credit inquiries for the Bank as requested
  • Establish, review and update new and existing credit files on a regular basis
  • Provide technical advice and assistance to Relationship Manager as needed
  • Work with Relationship Manager on proposals
  • Prepare loan approval presentations
  • Work with Loan Operations and/or attorneys to generate and review (for accuracy) documents and coordinate loan closings
  • Negotiate loan extensions and renewals
  • Respond to client inquiries
  • Request and review updated financial and operating information; confirm or recommend loan grade changes based on analysis
  • Assist in preparation of Watch Reports, Board Reports and other reporting as needed
  • Coordinate with Loan Operations and Deposit Operations to resolve client issues
  • Fund draw requests
  • Work with Treasury Management to meet clients’ cash management needs
  • Monitor and address past due loans and overdrawn deposit accounts
  • Attend Management Loan Committee and Director’s Loan Committee meetings
  • Attend Bank Officer meetings
  • Review information on market trends in commercial lending
  • Maintain knowledge of underwriting and Loan Policy guidelines
  • Attend training as required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Detail oriented
  • Skilled at financial analysis
  • Knowledge of commercial lending, owner-occupied commercial real estate lending, loan policy and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Ability to interact with clients in a professional, tactful and diplomatic manner
  • Ability to collaborate with loan officers, loan operations, and deposit operations to accomplish goals
  • Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines
Training & Experience
  • College degree in Finance, Accounting or equivalent related experience
  • Completion of a credit training program, preferably through a bank credit department
  • Minimum of 7 - 10 years’ experience in commercial lending, preferably with franchise finance and construction lending experience
Compensation
  • Base pay range: $/yr - $/yr
  • Expected Salary Range: $135,000 - $145,000 annually
  • Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data
