The City of Decatur, Illinois is seeking a strategic and forward-thinking finance executive to serve as its next Director of Finance. This executive leadership role oversees the City’s financial operations and plays a critical role in guiding long-term fiscal strategy, organizational planning, and financial stewardship for a full-service municipality.

Reporting to the City Manager, the Director of Finance oversees all municipal financial operations, including:

• Accounting and financial reporting
• Annual operating and capital budgeting
• Long-range financial planning and forecasting
• Debt issuance and treasury management
• Procurement and purchasing operations
• Risk management and internal controls
• Financial systems modernization and ERP optimization

The Director serves as a trusted advisor to City leadership and elected officials, providing strategic financial guidance that supports operational excellence, fiscal sustainability, and community priorities.
