Under the administrative direction of the President/CEO and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) provides strategic leadership for the financial health and long-term sustainability of Macon Resources, Inc. The CFO is responsible for developing and executing the organization's financial strategy while ensuring strong fiscal stewardship, profitability of business operations, effective capital management, enterprise risk management, and long-term financial planning.

The CFO oversees all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, treasury management, investments, reimbursement optimization, business analytics, purchasing, information technology, and revenue cycle functions. The CFO serves as a strategic advisor to the President/CEO and Board of Directors, providing financial insight that supports organizational growth, operational excellence, and mission fulfillment while meeting all applicable local, state and federal laws;

licensure/certification/accreditation regulations and agency policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute the organization's long-term financial strategy aligned with the agency's strategic plan.
  • Serve as a strategic business partner to the President/CEO and Executive Leadership Team.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen financial performance while advancing the agency's mission.
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, acquisitions, partnerships, and investments through financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Develop financial models supporting expansion of programs, new business ventures, and earned revenue initiatives.
  • Lead organizational financial planning to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives with the CEO.
  • Evaluate mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships.
  • Develop multi-year financial forecasts.
  • Lead organizational capital planning.
  • Oversee investment strategy and reserve management.
  • Measure return on investment (ROI) for programs and business ventures.
  • Develop enterprise-wide financial performance metrics.
  • Ensure long-term organizational sustainability through proactive financial leadership.
Financial Stewardship
  • Direct all accounting, finance, treasury, payroll, purchasing, and financial reporting activities.
  • Maintain responsibility for organizational profit and loss performance across all business operations.
  • Develop annual operating and capital budgets.
  • Monitor monthly financial performance and recommend corrective actions.

    Oversee cash flow, liquidity, debt management, investments, and banking relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, federal and state regulations, grant requirements, and audit standards.
  • Lead the annual independent audit and preparation of IRS Form 990.
Financial Analysis
  • Develop financial dashboards and key performance indicators.
  • Analyze profitability of business enterprises and service lines.
  • Recommend pricing strategies for manufacturing, employment services, commercial contracts, and other earned revenue activities.
  • Perform cost analyses and margin improvement initiatives.
  • Lead forecasting and scenario planning for changing funding environments.
Enterprise Risk Management
  • Identify financial and operational risks affecting the organization.
  • Develop internal controls protecting organizational assets.
  • Ensure appropriate insurance coverages and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain business continuity and financial contingency planning.
Revenue Growth
  • Identify opportunities to diversify revenue sources.
  • Evaluate reimbursement methodologies and maximize revenue opportunities.
  • Support grant development through financial planning and sustainability analyses.
  • Develop financial strategies that increase unrestricted revenue and operating margins.
Technology and Systems
  • Oversee financial systems, ERP software, cybersecurity related to financial operations, and information technology.
  • Lead financial technology improvements and automation initiatives.
  • Ensure financial reporting systems provide accurate and timely information.
