The Lead Clinical Assistant works closely with the Nursing Managers and CMA Supervisor to coordinate and implement new and on-going education and training of all Clinical Staff. In addition, will supervise daily activities and clinic workflows.
Supervisory Responsibilities- Oversight of CNA and CMA Clinical Assistants
- Provides continuous oversight of CMA and CNA staff throughout shift including facilitation of lunch coverage
- Responsible for Orientation of all C.M.A.’s, C.N.A.’s as defined by the following:
- Coordination of Education Onboarding schedule
- Directly provide E.H.R. training
- Directly provide basic clinical procedures; rooming, intake, check-out, CLIA testing, etc.
- Ensures Clinical Competency list is completed prior to 90-day Evaluation
- Ongoing training for existing staff in conjunction with EHR upgrades and workflow changes
- Performs Office duties under scope of C.M.A. scope of practice as needed
- Daily huddle in respective area
- Assists as needed with provider coverage due to call offs, vacancies, vacations, etc.
- Monitor task boxes for completion and correct documentation
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to follow established procedures and maintain high level of organization
- Ability to orient other clinical staff members
- Ability to relate to persons of various economic levels and cultures and provide excellent communication.
- Ability to remain relaxed and calm under stressful situations
- Ability to speak and write fluently in English;
Spanish desirable - Ability to work independently and cooperatively
- Ability to have crucial conversations with staff and peers to ensure team members are held accountable and to ensure clear communication across the organization.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- CPR certified
- Successful completion of a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required
- Training verification as a MA required
- Successful completion of testing required
- Two (2) years of successful experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time, hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to deliver medical services and use equipment.
- Ability to work in conditions that include exposure to blood, bodily fluids and tissues, contagious diseases and/or other potentially hazardous materials
- Fine motor coordination sufficient to perform manipulative skills
- Moderate physical exertion including frequent walking, standing, bending, reaching and carrying moderately heavy loads (up to 25 lbs.)
