GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Under administrative direction of the Chief Program Officer (CPO) and as a member of the MRI Management Team, the Manager of Community Day Services directs the planning, development, implementation, operation and evaluation of the Community Day Services (CDS) of Macon Resources, Inc. (MRI). Monitors CDS to assure that the programs meet all applicable local, state, and federal laws; licensure/certification/accreditation standards; operate in accordance with agency policies and procedures and meet the needs and preferences of individuals served.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans, develops, implements, and evaluates all CDS services. This responsibility may require the use of computers, word processing software, a phone, and a vehicle.
  • Monitors, promotes and schedules person centered training and active training in a variety of areas including; academics, activities of daily living, recreation/leisure, socialization, and vocational utilizing established curriculum and based on each individual's Person-Centered Plan (PCP).
  • Selects, trains, and develops an effective and efficient staff:
    • Screens job applicants in Paycom, conducts interviews, checks references in collaboration with the Human Resources department, and selects applicant to recommend for hire.
    • Establishes and communicates performance standards and objectives and conducts performance appraisals annually or as necessary using Paycom.
    • Promotes and monitors staff training to meet all agency requirements and certification and licensure standards.
    • Utilizing Paycom, recommends hirings, promotions, transfers, and dismissals.
    • Monitors operations and staff, and when necessary, recommends changes in methods, procedures, structure, and additions and changes in personnel to secure optimum utilization of resources.
    • Communicates with staff regarding current problems, changes, and new developments in the agency by conducting periodic meetings.
    • Administers all policies and procedures as developed by MRI; communicates to staff, interprets as necessary, and confirms compliance.
    • Develops managers' and/or supervisors' skills, particularly in the management techniques of planning, organizing, leading, and supervising through continued coaching and feedback performance.
  • Works in coordination with case management for individuals enrolled in CDS to ensure the implementation of the PCP as directed by the interdisciplinary team (IDT).
  • Manages CDS in compliance with agency policies and procedures and standards; communicates standards regarding accreditation, licensure and certification to staff; plans and coordinates activities to achieve and maintain the accreditation, licensure and certification of CDS.
  • Assists the Chief Program Officer in assuring achievement of the agency mission by reviewing drafts of agency-wide policies and procedures and making suggestions to enhance the quality of services and supports; assists the Chief Program Officer to administer and monitor full implementation of these policies and procedures within the scope of job responsibilities.
  • Makes recommendations to the Chief Program Officer regarding program and/or policy changes and additions designed to improve the quality of services provided.
  • Ensures quality documentation of services by monitoring and/or ensuring the monitoring of CDS case records for accuracy and completeness of required information.
  • Confers and collaborates with the Chief Program Officer, and prepares and submits budgets to ensure that Community Day Services are fiscally responsible; the budget plan and actual expenditures are maintained within acceptable levels; and that billing and attendance information is submitted to the business office for submission to funders.
  • Collaborates with the Chief Program Officer in the procurement of funds for Community Day Services; strengthens existing services through resource development and management to maximize program and cost effectiveness.
  • As a member of the management team, assures achievement of the agency mission by recommending agency-wide policies and procedures and administers and monitors full implementation of these policies and procedures within the scope of the job responsibilities and under the direction of the Chief Program Officer.
  • Provides documentation for the MRI Utilization Review Committee (URC); reviews service delivery and documentation of quality indicators; completes and submits reports; and communicates verbally and/or in writing recommendations for quality improvements.
  • Ensures CDS maintains revenues and expenditures within acceptable levels by preparing check requests and/or purchase order requests for review; ensuring the preparation of billing, attendance information, client count/timesheets for timely submission.
