Position: Maintenance Technician 2

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine and complex maintenance/repairs within the facility, which may include items that are mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, plumbing, HVAC, and facility systems. This role ensures manufacturing equipment, material handling systems, and building infrastructure are properly maintained to minimize downtime and support safe, efficient, and continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine and complex maintenance/repairs on manufacturing and facility equipment, including manufacturing machines, forklifts, conveyor systems, packaging machines, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to minimize operational downtime and maximize production efficiency.
  • Perform preventative maintenance activities, including inspections, lubrication, adjustments, and part replacement on production equipment and material handling systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair basic facility systems including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC; coordinate with local contractors for major or specialized repairs as needed.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools, blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals to identify equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Perform welding and fabrication repairs as required to maintain equipment integrity and safety.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, spare parts, and tools; notify management of replenishment needs.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying recurring equipment issues and recommending corrective actions.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
  • One-year certificate from a college or technical school, or one to three years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with CNC machinery, welding, and blueprint/schematic reading preferred.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and production equipment upkeep.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, electrical schematics, blueprints, and safety documentation.
  • Basic math skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and measurements.

  • Independence & Initiative – Ability to work with minimal supervision while supporting team objectives.
  • Communication – Clear verbal and written communication with supervisors, contractors, and staff.
Working Conditions
  • Regularly required to walk, stand, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Frequently required to talk and hear; occasionally required to sit, stand and climb.
  • Must regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds, and occasionally up to 75 pounds with or without assistance.
  • Exposure to moving mechanical parts, electrical systems, heights, vibrations, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Noise level in the work environment is typically moderate to loud.
