This entry‑level role trains new technicians on one of four analytical aisles within the QC laboratory. The technician will prepare samples, perform analytical testing using instrumental and wet chemistry methods, and document results in computerized systems. Successful completion of training on one aisle is required before advancement to Laboratory Technician I.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare process and finished product samples.
- Perform analytical testing using wet chemistry and instrumental techniques.
- Record and maintain test data in laboratory systems.
- Complete all laboratory and plant safety orientations.
- Work safely and follow all department safety policies.
- Immediately report hazards, unsafe acts, or injuries.
- Perform at least one laboratory safety audit monthly.
- Complete a minimum of three safety engagements monthly.
- Work within the demands of a 24/7/365 operation, depending on assigned shift.
- Use math skills to perform testing‑related calculations.
- Participate in training, coaching, and continuous improvement.
- Utilize computer systems as required for testing and documentation.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by quality leadership.
- Ability to follow detailed procedures and accept coaching.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong reliability and consistency in prior employment history.
- Completion of a college science lab (preferred but not required).
- Experience in laboratory, quality, production, food service, warehouse, or other fast‑paced work settings.
- Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, and IC (beneficial but not required).
- Understanding of cGMP, FDA guidelines, and general laboratory operations.
- New technicians receive certification in each assigned area typically within 60–90 days of independent aisle work.
- Training sign‑off is completed by senior laboratory personnel.
