We are currently looking for a Disa Operator to join our team in Decatur, IL.

Reporting to the department supervisor, the Disa Operator is responsible to Controls the disamatic, ductile iron molding and pouring operation utilizing the Disamatuc Molding Machine, Sand Muller and Hartley Control System.

• Ensures correct patterns, date codes and core masks (when necessary) are installed on Disa
• Checks and regulates all Disamatic pressure and molding settings
• Interprets Hartly and Disa sampling results to produce proper sand by adjusting muller settings, bond and water
• Controls tap size, as well as fade out time, according to the job being ran
• Communicates with Melt Lead man and Iron Delivery Driver to control taps per hour,
• according to the job being ran
• Controls start and stop of all Disa support equipment (belts, shakers, dust collectors)
• Promptly notifies maintenance and/or Lead man in the event of a breakdown
• Maintains clean and safe work area Adhere to Nortrak’s Safety, Quality and Environmental Procedures, Practices and Policies
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Frequent standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, and pushing, pulling, or lifting objects for the duration of your required schedule shift.
• Use hands and arms to operate tools, handle materials, and reach for the duration of your required scheduled shift.
• Regularly lift and carry 30–35 pounds; occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Required vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Hearing abilities necessary to perform job tasks safely and effectively.

• High School graduate or GED preferred.
• Forklift and Crane certification preferred.
• Ability to read work orders, ITP’s, blue prints, rulers and tape measures.
• Experience with measuring tools preferred.
• Basic mathematical calculation experience in adding and subtracting whole numbers, fractions and decimals
