Below duties are required, additional duties can be added and required.

• Uses micrometer to determine ribbon thickness contour.
• Uses ream comparator to check ream.
• Measures distortion visually with the use of a zebra board or pattern comparison test equipment.
• Uses striae scope photographic equipment to evaluate transmitted distortion.
• Uses spectrophotometer to measure transmittance and color characteristics of glass.
• Uses furnace for glass bending to check bloom.
• Uses gloss meter to check the “W” coverage.
• Check top tin using baby powder.
• Check warp using a taper gage and surface plate.
• Weighs ribbon section of glass used in the calculation of tons per day.
• Check 40” caps for seeds.
• Complete surface checks using edge lights, green lights, reflective lights, transmitted lights or other designated lighting to prevent the shipment of reject quality to customers.
• Uses a scum chamber to test tin surface for irregularities.

• Must have a high school education.
• Must have adequate working knowledge of mathematics, must have mental ability to obtain working knowledge of all equipment used and must be tactful and courteous in dealing with production personnel.
