This position offers comprehensive training and hands-on learning opportunities in laboratory operations, automation and microbiology.

** Job responsibilities*
* As a key member of the Cell Engineering team, you will:

+ Prepare a variety of liquid and solid media, and other laboratory reagents accurately and efficiently

+ Keep glassware and other lab materials clean, sterile and ready for use

+ Sterilize, stock, and organize consumables

+ Safely autoclave and dispose of laboratory liquid and solid waste (following established procedures and training)

+ Maintain inventories and identify replenishment needs proactively, and in a timely manner

+ Receive, organize, and stock incoming laboratory supplies

+ Manage chemical ordering, storage, and assist with disposal with responsibility

+ Maintain laboratory equipment, including refrigerators, freezers, incubators and biosafety cabinets

+ Coordinate equipment and room maintenance, and repair requests

+ Keep shared laboratory spaces clean, organized, and fully stocked

+ Identify opportunities to improve organization, efficiency, and laboratory workflows

+ Support scientists and colleagues with additional laboratory activities as needed

+ Contribute to a knowledge-sharing, positive and safe work environment

** Qualifications*
* ** Required*
* + Associate degree with at least 2 years of microbiology laboratory experience

+ Good basic math skills and a critical mind

+ Proficiency with computers and common software applications such as Microsoft Office (strong proficiency in Excel)

+ Willingness to learn and utilize laboratory information systems (LIMS) and other digital tools daily

+ A track record of following written and verbal instructions, and work mostly independently after training

+ Experience standing for up to seven hours and lifting up to 50 pounds
