* Position Summary:

** The primary focus of the role is to ensure the safe and efficient operation of HVAC/R systems and kitchen equipment. The technician will:
* Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC/R and kitchen equipment in the Decatur area, with occasional support for Erlanger, KY, and Chicago, IL. Travel will be about once a quarter.
* Assist in the installation of systems for new construction, remodels, and retrofits.

** The role requires physical endurance and adaptability:
* Ability to stand, walk, and climb ladders or stairs.
* Perform heavy lifting as needed.
* Work in adverse weather conditions, such as extreme heat, cold, or inclement weather.

Qualifications:

* Licenses/Certifications:

+ Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle in a work environment.

* Experience:

+ At least five years of experience in HVAC/R systems and maintenance.
* Possess Refrigeration Certification

Essential Job Functions:

** The role involves a wide range of technical tasks and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
* HVAC/R Systems:  + Diagnose and repair HVAC/R systems using Building Automation Software.  + Install and upgrade HVAC/R systems as part of construction or retrofit projects.  + Troubleshoot and repair HVAC components, such as pumps, motors, boilers, chillers, heat pumps, and cooling towers.
* Kitchen Equipment:  + Repair and install kitchen appliances and equipment.
* Preventive Maintenance:  + Perform maintenance tasks such as replacing filters and belts, cleaning, and testing equipment.
* Field Service:  + Troubleshoot, repair, and replace equipment in the field.  + Maintain accurate records of refrigerant usage.
* Plumbing and Ductwork:  + Perform basic plumbing repairs and installations (e.g., domestic water, refrigeration).  + Construct and install ductwork.

* General Responsibilities:

+ Be available for on-call shifts during evenings and weekends.  + Perform additional tasks such as snow removal and operating a forklift as needed.
** Technical and Knowledge Proficiencies:
** The candidate must have expertise in:
* Electricity and electrical circuits.
* Thermodynamic properties of refrigerants and refrigeration systems.
* Proper use of tools and pipe fitting.
