Trailer & Equipment Mechanic

Keen Transport, part of the Wallenius Wilhelmsen group, seeks a Trailer & Equipment Mechanic for our equipment processing center.

Starting pay is $28.00 an hour.

Perform maintenance, troubleshooting and repair on low‑boy trailers, trucks and equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and yard equipment. Diagnose hydraulic, air brakes, suspension, drivetrain and electrical systems. Move equipment safely, operate specialized tooling and vehicles, maintain proficiency on equipment and technologies that enhance productivity, document all maintenance and parts in TMT shop software, follow safety protocols and procedures using protective equipment, keep the work area clean, safe and organized, and maintain a positive, respectful attitude with drivers and other departments.

• 3‑5 years of verifiable experience as a Trailer and Equipment Mechanic
• Air brakes certification
• Good set of hand tools
• Basic welding skills (Oxy/Acetylene, MIG and ARC)
• Strong computer skills
• Strong work ethic, teamwork mindset and great character
• Valid driver’s license
• Clean driving record
• Proficient use of hand and power tools—welders, grinders, torches, etc.
• Sockets and wrenches up to 1 1/2″
• Multimeter
• Standard tools to service semi and forklift
