Summary:

Austin Industrial is a merit shop, employee‑owned company and has been a provider of construction, maintenance, plant services, turnaround and specialty services to the oil, gas and chemical, energy (power and ethanol), and manufacturing industries for more than 100 years.

We are currently seeking a Scaffold Builder. This person will construct, assemble, maintain, and dismantle tubular scaffolding or other temporary structures. This is accomplished by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities. A minimum of 3 years of experience is required within the Scaffolding craft. Other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Work at heights with no fear.
• Determine the type of scaffold needed.
• Inspect the job site and all scaffold material for defects and safety hazards.
• Effectively communicate safety hazards and mitigate avoidable hazards prior to construction of scaffolding.
• Transport tubular scaffold or other structural material and erect the scaffold to the dimensions required.
• Hoist scaffolding materials upward in order to erect temporary structure.
• Properly secure and level locking sections of scaffolding material.
• Properly secure scaffold to the permanent structure for added stability.
• Adhere to all OSHA, site‑specific, and Austin Industrial requirements for the erecting and navigation of the scaffolding.
• Perform final inspection of completed scaffolding.
• Dismantle scaffolding when it has been properly communicated to do so.
• Inspect and properly stow scaffolding material after dismantling.
