Delivery Driver/Warehouse Position

Connor Co., a company rich in history, currently has an available Delivery Driver/Warehouse position in Decatur, IL. We are looking for a career‑minded person who is looking for a long‑term position with a great company. Candidates must be available to work from 7:00 AM until 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

• Process paperwork for all inbound freight including UPS and transfers
• Scan all paperwork in the Eclipse system
• Receive incoming material by entering actual items received versus quantities shown on packing slip
• Resolve vendor discrepancies (over/under shipments)
• Perform general warehouse clerical duties
• Prepare truck for operation by inspecting general condition: check fluid levels and tire pressure; notify Branch Manager before obtaining or scheduling required repairs
• Maintain truck operating efficiency by completing preventative maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; scheduling repairs
• Load delivery truck with product securely—avoid damages
• Deliver items by identifying destinations; establishing route; operating the truck; unloading items; maintaining schedule
• Use a cell phone to report on the progress of deliveries
• Picks up return items for the company
• Verify products delivered against packing slip and have customers sign receipt
• Serve customers by understanding and resolving or forwarding complaints
• Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
• Process inbound materials to the warehouse: compare quantities shown on packing slip or manifests with actual items received
• Efficiently and effectively load and unload trucks
• Inspect items according to instructions and report damaged goods
• Ensure materials are placed in the designated area within the warehouse
• Stack skids or pallets in designated areas; clean up and dispose of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; place in a proper container or designated area
• Perform general housekeeping: sweeping, mopping, dusting
• Assist customers at the counter
• Perform other duties as requested

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• Valid driver’s license (Class C CDL required)

• Critical thinker—using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions
• Mathematical reasoning—ability to choose the right method or formulas to solve the problem
• Ability to learn Eclipse software
• Must be very detail‑oriented and focused for accuracy
• Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision and under tight deadlines
• Must have strong interpersonal communication skills
• Must maintain a patient and professional attitude while managing a busy workload

• Must be able to determine and prioritize workload
• Ability to read directions and use a street map to plot delivery route
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Normal warehouse environment; exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock; physical strength to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally.
