Quality Control Inspector

Overview

Decatur Diamond, LLC, a manufacturer of diamond based tooling, is seeking an Inspector to join our Quality Control Department for our production facility located in Decatur, IN. The candidate will be responsible for final inspection of all parts and will perform calibration of inspection, measuring and testing equipment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word) and experience with inspection equipment are desired.

The hours for this position are 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Starting wage
: $17.00 – $19.00 per hour, based on experience.

The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined or have prior Quality Control experience. Trade school or prior machining experience is preferred. We will train the right individual.

• Perform final inspection of parts according to established inspection criteria.
• Calibrate inspection, measuring and testing equipment.
• Perform manual inspections accurately and correctly.
• Proficient use of computer-driven and automated inspection equipment.
• Comply with all safety and health regulations.

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic knowledge of inspection procedures including prints/drawings, critical dimensions and tolerances.
• Basic knowledge of manual inspection equipment: micrometers, calipers, comparators.
• Proficient in reading drawings, prints and understanding inspection criteria.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word.
• Detail-oriented with a good work ethic.
• Possess good basic math skills.
• Takes pride in assisting with the production of high quality American-made products.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to work in a team.
