INSTRUCTOR OF HORN (adjunct, part-time)

Luther College seeks an Adjunct Instructor of Horn for a part-time position beginning Fall 2026. Candidates will teach applied horn lessons, the horn portion of brass methods for music education students, and a weekly horn studio seminar, working with students from all majors.

• Teach applied horn lessons.
• Teach the horn portion of brass methods for music education students.
• Lead a weekly horn studio seminar.
• Work with students from all majors.

• Hold a Master’s degree (MM) or higher in music.
• Experience teaching collegiate horn students.
• Demonstrated excellence in college teaching and ability to foster a positive learning environment.
• Interest in teaching in a liberal arts environment and understanding of inclusion and belonging.

• Per lesson salary: $385 per lesson for holders of a doctorate degree.
• Per lesson salary: $335 per lesson for holders of a master’s degree.
• Salary based on a semester-long (30‑minute weekly) rate.
