Manufacturing/Process Engineer
Location:
Decorah, Iowa
Salary: $75-95K plus bonus
Job Summary of the Manufacturing/Process Engineer:
As a Manufacturing/Process Engineer, you will play a key role in enhancing operational capabilities while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. Partnering with various departments, your focus will be on continuous improvement and process stability to support the company’s objectives and vision.
Job Duties & Responsibilities of the Manufacturing/Process Engineer:
- Monitor process performance and address issues to support daily manufacturing operations.
- Document work instructions, process flows, and standard work to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities and implement changes for enhanced safety and quality.
- Support new product introductions and process trials to facilitate seamless implementation and documentation.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives and root cause analysis efforts to drive sustainable changes.
- Identify and eliminate waste, reduce scrap, and minimize labor inefficiencies to optimize production processes.
- Drive capital project initiatives from inception to completion to enhance operational capabilities and support business goals.
- Develop and evaluate capital requests to align with organizational objectives and cost-saving strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to ensure successful equipment installation and commissioning.
- Conduct process validation and capability studies to uphold quality, safety, and performance standards.
- Maintain documentation and process instructions to ensure knowledge transfer and sustained improvements.
- Support audits, compliance, and process reliability to uphold high standards of quality and safety.
Education & Experience Requirements of the Manufacturing/Process Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or related field) required
- 4–7 years of hands-on manufacturing or process engineering experience in a production environment
- Experience with lean manufacturing and capital projects
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing data
- Enjoy working hands-on with production teams and implementing sustainable improvements
- Willingness to travel up to 15% to support business needs
